We Are Barker Wool
Chasing Rabbits Fiber Co is now Barker Wool. Of course I expect you have questions about this change, so let me take a moment to explain.
Who: Barker Wool is still us, Dawn & Dale Barker. We are still deeply and completely rooted in the entire design and creative process, and will continue to offer the highest level of personal customer service. Nothing is changing here but our name.
What: We will still provide the finest hand-dyed wool in the same beautifully curated color collections that you have come to expect from us coupled with innovative, thoughtfully designed patterns.
When: This transition process was completed by early February, 2022. It will take us a hot minute to edit existing patterns, print new labels, and get the word out about the name change. We will keep you informed here in the newsletter, on the NEWS tab at the bottom of the website, and on Instagram of all of the changes as they roll out.
Where: You can still find us at chasingrabbitsfiber.com until the transition is complete. Our new home will be BarkerWool.com., our new Instagram handle will be @Barker.Wool, and you can always contact us at BarkerWool@gmail.com.
Why: It all started back in early September 2021 when I was contacted by a someone who threatened legal action against us if we did not stop using the words ‘chasing’ and ‘rabbits’ together in our name, claiming brand confusion. I tried to explain to them that my customers would never confuse yarn for any other product, but sadly, they would not let it go. Court battles just aren’t our style, so we decided to use this as an opportunity to streamline our brand and adopt a new name that would better reflect who we are and what I do not only as a dyer but as a designer and teacher as well.
Please notice that we are keeping our beloved rabbits in our logo. We had to say goodbye to the name, but we couldn’t leave our perpetually-chasing rabbits behind. We have always believed in staying curious, and we think it’s important to continue to learn and grow as we travel the path of life. That’s what chasing rabbits embodied for us, and Barker Wool is still just as passionate about it. We hope that you’ll come along for the ride.
