The Staccato hat is a warm and stylish beanie that employs the intriguing technique of assigned pooling.
Assigned Pooling occurs when a change in stitch and texture is isolated within a specific color range in a skein of variegated yarn.  In this instance, the 2x2 ribbing is assigned to the main color, which produces a structured backdrop for the giant nupps assigned to the accent color.
